Prof Van-Tam stressed scientists “do not yet know the impact of the vaccine on transmission of the virus." Shouldn't this have been established before embarking on vaccinating millions? What is the point of the vaccine if it does not prevent transmission?

Rwanda has addressed the challenge of storing COVID-19 #vaccines at low temperatures, and has built the capacity to store about 300,000 vaccine doses https://t.co/9FgSo1FqBc
The #vaccines apparently do not help much to end the #pandemic in the short term.
"Even after you have had both doses of the vaccine you may still give #COVID19 to someone else and the chains of transmission will then continue," Prof Van-Tam said.
