Black church “souls to the polls” efforts, which Georgia Republicans are seeking to curtail, were intended in part to offer security against physical harassment of Black voters. @NYTnickc + @jimrutenberg report on efforts by state Rs to stack the deck. https://t.co/AYDgq9Szo6 https://t.co/m9VqwM8utp

Absurdist, racist registration tests are still within living memory in Georgia and elsewhere, as the story notes. https://t.co/k42gQSN16I

@nickconfessore @ryanjreilly @NYTnickc @jimrutenberg Hopefully IF it passes they’ll start Saturday souls to the polls as a big FU to GOP doing this. Advertise it constantly so they KNOW they failed. Vote in record Dem numbers to say FU GOP. F them with our votes. They might change how we vote but WILL NOT prevent us from voting!

@nickconfessore @tripgabriel @NYTnickc @jimrutenberg Wait, what? Georgia Republicans are trying to curtail "Souls to the polls"?? We know why they would want to do that, but what possible excuse could they give for opposing it?

@nickconfessore @MollyJongFast @NYTnickc @jimrutenberg Why is voting for all still considered a luxury by these white people?

@nickconfessore @selectedwisdom @NYTnickc @jimrutenberg It is just incomprehensible to me how utterly shameless the various state Republican led assemblies are about voter suppression. There is no defense for making voting more difficult. It should be equally easy for everyone to vote no matter where or when.
